Some Skully delights

It's better to light a candle than curse at the darkness

A glimpse into how my foundation course is going so far.

My project is based on old proverbs; to explore outcomes I looked into the social, literal and mythical connotations behind proverbs.
The idea of the shoot was that even in the darkness there's a light; in this case the darkness is death and decay an the light is position of the bones and the ethereal atmosphere the colours and lighting gives.

Small bird skulls on silk, personal favourite
cat skull and assorted animal limbs

Close up on rabbit jaw, I really like the discolouration on the bones

Closer view of the bird skulls

Dog skull, I like the purple and blue hues in these images.

My set up looks like a palaeontology dig site, and I'm a bit of a dinosaur fan.
The full image, I placed the bones to make it look as though they dance and frolic together. I wanted it to look playful and cute even though the subject is macabre.
this represents a little light in the darkness and how some hope, faith and simply seeing past the situation; allows us to see the silver lining to situations that would other wise be taboo or controversial.
